Are you running out of new ideas for quilting with just a walking foot? Are
you feeling like you want more flexibility in your quilting designs? Have you
been reluctant to jump in and quilt your newest top by free motion because
you feel like you aren’t skilled enough?
Here is your opportunity to spend time with an experienced machine
quilter, focusing on becoming more comfortable and perfecting your skills
in free motion quilting while using your own sewing machine. This class is
designed for quilters who have taken a beginning machine quilting
class or are comfortable with free motion quilting on their domestic sewing
Make this dynamic Hunter's Star quilt with no special ruler or template. It simply
starts with rectangles and triangles and although it looks complicated, it's easy. If
you are comfortable with a rotary cutter and have a good quarter inch seam you'll
be amazed at how simple it is to make a Hunter's Star quilt. The diamond shapes
and diagonal seams lend themselves to mitered borders. Learn how to measure,
cut and sew border strips to get those perfect mitered corners.
Strip piecing techniques make this Pieced Pyramids quilt easy. Learn to
use the 60 degree line on your ruler to cut equilateral triangles and
piecing techniques using a 60 degree angle. You'll also learn how to draft a
60 degree block into any size.
